“SJC Custom Drums would like to officially announce and welcome the newest addition to their family, Tré Cool of punk rock trio, Green Day. To celebrate the new alliance, SJC Drums will be releasing a Limited Edition kit & snare at the 2014 NAMM show January 23, 2014 in Anaheim, CA. Only 13 Limited Edition Tré Cool Bunny kits and 13 matching snares will be available for purchase. The design pays homage to the classic “Cane & Top Hat” kit, SJC’s Mike Ciprari explains the design: “I knew Tré was a huge vintage drum collector, so I wanted to design a kit that paid homage to a classic design, yet had the Tré Cool flare to it.” All Tré Cool drums will be handcrafted by SJC Drums in their Massachusetts, USA workshop and will come bearing Tré’s signature to approve the drum’s quality and authenticity. To top it all off SJC will be making 20 very special “Dookie 20th anniversary” snare drums to celebrate the life of the 1994 record, “Dookie”. The SJC team went above and beyond by getting ahold of the actual snare used on the recording to ensure the most genuine product possible.
SJC Drums CEO, Mike Ciprari and Tré met in early 2012 while Tré and the band were in the studio, tracking for their string of new releases titled, “Uno!”, “Dos!”, “Tre!”, Mike says “Mike Fasano, who was teching for Tré in the studio had a few of our snares, and Tré tried a couple of them out, something I wasn’t expecting! He ended up using a few of the snares on the record, and called me wanting one. Since then, our friendship has developed and now here we are, about to release a Tré Cool Limited Edition line of drums @ NAMM. We’ve all been huge fans of Tré for a long time, and are so excited to take our ideas to the next level with our new alliance!”
“I’ve played on literally every brand of US drums out there, and I’ve finally found my home. I’ve been looking for drums like these my whole life. True American hot rod custom kits. From the look and sound to the service and attention, it’s good to now be a part of the SJC family.” Tré Cool.
You can catch these drums first hand at this year’s NAMM trade show, booth #3070.
