Billie will play the role of St. Jimmy in the American Idiot movie

On July 29th Broadway Idiot was screened in Lincoln Center, and afterwards there was a Q&A where Michael Mayer (director of the musical and the upcoming movie) confirmed that Billie will be playing the role of St. Jimmy although there’s still no date for the movie to start shooting or a release date.

Back in 2011 Billie posted on his twitter account:

“Haven’t totally committed to St Jimmy for AI movie. Yes, I’m interested. Yes someone jumped the gun..”

It’d be really interesting to see Billie Joe playing that role since he did an awesome job on the musical, hopefully the movie will start production soon.
